The 5 Exercises You Must Do For Incredible Results
The fastest way to transform your body, health, and lifestyle is to get stronger. And the fastest way to get stronger is by lifting weights! And your time in the gym is best spent doing just a handful of lifts that train all the major muscle groups in your body.
Most people I talk with have way too much variety in your workout. In fact, having too much variety can seriously slow down your progress despite all the talk about "needing to switch things up" and “muscle confusion.” Long story short: You don’t need to change things up and your muscles can’t be confused.
At Steel Strength Training we start all our workouts with the same few movements.
We want our clients to master the movements. This ensures they feel comfortable and safe doing the movements. It also allows us to track progress. When you’re doing the same exercises, it’s really easy to see if you’re making progress. Either you did more than last time or you didn’t, it’s that simple. And finally, these movements train all the major muscle groups in your body. It’s the most effective and efficient way to spend your time in the gym.
So what are these movements?
Bonus: Pull-ups if you can do them
Squats and deadlifts will work your legs, butt, core, and back.
Bench Press and Shoulder Press will work your arms, chest, shoulders, and core.
Rows and pull-ups will work your back, shoulders, arms, and core.
Now we aren’t married to these movements. If for any reason a client is unable to do any of these movements, we’ll find a variation of the exercise that’s just as effective for them to do.
The important thing is you’re doing some variation of these movements and focusing on progressively adding weight/reps to the bar.
